Lotus Petal is a trust that is committed to providing food, education, skill development and healthcare to the children living in the urban slums of India.
Lotus Petal Foundation runs three intrinsic, interconnected programs- Vidyananda School for primary education, Pratishthan Learning Center for secondary education with skills training and Aarogya Wellness for healthcare.
The combination of these programmes provides a platform to an underprivileged child to move from Kindergarten (KG) to Sr Secondary (Class XII) at the end of which they move into a job or professional higher education streams.
The class room education over the 12-year period is supported by nutrition, regular medical check-ups, fitness training and counselling to ensure that each child can progress in the education process.
Focus on soft skills is paramount in Lotus Petal. Regular visits to corporate offices, communication classes, inter school cultural competitions, various running events and our annual day provide a platform to the student to develop their personality and are ready to assimilate in the mainstream society.
Established in 2011, Lotus Petal started with one class of 7 students. In 2016 Lotus Petal is flourishing with 215 students and comprises of classes from Kindergarten to grade 12. The student strength has increased to 307 with the new academic from Apr 2017.
