Cancer Fund for Children Ireland

Every week across the island of Ireland, another 10 children and young people (aged 0-24) are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer Fund for Children understands the devastating impact a childhood cancer diagnosis and its treatment can have on the whole family, and that beyond the essential medical care, many families need social and emotional support.

We are an all-island charity providing emotional, social and therapeutic cancer support. Our Cancer Support Specialists are here to help families at home, in hospital, at our therapeutic short break centre Daisy Lodge in Co. Down and soon to be Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo. Our support is flexible, personalised and child focused.

Cancer Fund for Children’s therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down is a nurturing and restorative space, purpose-built to help the whole family during one of the most vulnerable, difficult, and exhausting times in their lives. Daisy Lodge is a wonderful haven of peace and tranquillity where families can relax, connect, and meet other families experiencing childhood cancer.

Currently, we can only provide one in seven families across Ireland with a therapeutic short break. Construction of our second therapeutic centre which will be situated on the picturesque shores of Lough Corrib in Cong Co. Mayo is due to commence in late 2024. Once operational, we will be able to empower, connect and strengthen 2,200 more children and families every year.
