Bradford Buddies is a project that supports adults with a learning disability and/or autism in the Bradford district to have a full and varied social life. We do this through a number of ways:
1. Buddy Pairings: We match buddies with a volunteer who shares similar interests so they can meet on a monthly basis and develop a genuine friendship
2. Monthly group socials: We hold 2-3 group socials a month for buddies and volunteers to come together and engage in activities in the community such as bowling, pub quizzes, gig nights etc
3. Friendship Groups: We are piloting forming Friendship Groups that will go on to meet independently to make this more sustainable
4. Venues Network: We are creating a network of Bradford Buddies friendly venues that our buddies consider to be welcoming and accessible safe spaces. We will offer these venues support to be more inclusive and work in partnership with them, promoting them for our buddies to enjoy either as a pair, group or independently.
