The American Friends of Jamaica is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves as a conduit for tax-deductible philanthropic contributions from those who care about and want to achieve positive social impact in Jamaica. For the past 30 years, the AFJ has developed an extensive network of donors, partners and grantee organizations that uniquely positions the organization to effectively mobilize and distribute resources for change where it counts. Our calendar of fundraising activities, restricted and discretionary contributions from the Board and other supporters, help meet annual grant requirements. Below is a list of grants disbursed in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Typically, grants are disbursed yearly in April except in the case of a natural disaster requiring immediate response.
