There are now 50 million people in the US without a job, one out of three people in the workforce! San Francisco's Latinx Covid infections account for 60% of the total cases in our city, that is four times the rate of the 15% share of San Francisco's Latinx population! Most of those millions can apply for unemployment or some public benefit. We are feeding people who have no access to such benefits and who would go hungry without our mutual support. Children, elders, immigrants, the disabled and families suffering Covid-19 infection are particularly hard hit. Together we can humbly address our community's need for food today.
