BOISE ART MUSEUM INCORPORATED

The Boise Art Museum (BAM) is Boise’s oldest visual arts organization, promoting the enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of the visual arts through comprehensive exhibition and educational programs serving a broad public audience. The Museum’s exhibitions address a spectrum of historical periods, artistic media and styles, and are enhanced by educational programs that meet the needs of people of all ages, learning styles and interests. Since 1937, BAM has been a venue for cultural and civic dialogue, community building, volunteerism, and the exploration of diverse ideas. By educating people about themselves and others through works of art, BAM’s exhibitions and educational programs have been instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for the people of Idaho. The Museum houses a diverse Permanent Collection of more than 4,000 objects comprised of American, Asian and African art with a special emphasis on the works of Idaho and Northwest artists. The Museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), certifying adherence to professional practices and high quality programming. BAM is the only collecting art museum in Idaho to hold AAM accreditation and is among 3% of museums nationwide that have earned this distinction.
