About HEAL Palestine
HEAL Palestine is a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to the safety, healing, and future of Palestinian children and families. We envision a world where every Palestinian child grows up safe, healthy, and supported with dignity. Guided by community leadership and a belief in the potential of every child, HEAL delivers urgent relief while investing in long term recovery and opportunity. Our mission brings together four areas of work that restore care, learning, nourishment, and leadership for communities who deserve the chance to heal and rebuild their futures. HEAL serves families in Gaza, the West Bank, Egypt, and the United States. In Gaza, where repeated bombardments have devastated every part of life, we support hospitals, medical points, aid distributions, schools, and youth programs. In the West Bank, medical missions bring volunteer doctors to perform surgeries, screenings, and clinician training. In Egypt, we support displaced families with education, mental health care, and early childhood programs. In the United States, our Global Healing Program hosts injured children who cannot access treatment in Gaza and provides them with free surgeries, rehabilitation, mental health care, and education. Children and their caregivers are supported by volunteers, host families, and the HEAL team as they begin a long journey of healing.
Health
The collapse of the health care system in Gaza has left families without consistent access to care. HEAL responds through a field hospital that has served more than one million patients since opening. It provides emergency treatment, safe childbirths, outpatient services, and critical care for people who have nowhere else to go. We opened a medical point in Northern Gaza where every hospital had closed and are preparing another in Al Mawasi to reach displaced families who cannot access remaining clinics. These facilities provide wound care, maternal health, pediatric services, and chronic illness management. Our mental health team offers individual therapy, group counseling, trauma support, and training for teachers and hotline responders so that communities can access safe and culturally grounded care. HEAL also organizes medical missions in the West Bank where volunteer clinicians perform surgeries that families have waited months or years to receive and train local staff to strengthen care long after each mission ends. Through the Global Healing Program, sixty three injured children have received life saving surgeries, prosthetics, rehabilitation, and therapy in the United States, along with education that helps them regain structure and confidence.
Education
Education is a source of stability, hope, and dignity for children living through trauma and displacement. HEAL restores learning wherever children are. In Gaza, our team delivers tutoring linked with mental health support, provides learning kits for injured children in hospitals, distributes tablets and digital tools for Tawjihi students, and trains educators in trauma informed practices. Children who have been displaced many times receive structured learning environments that help restore a sense of childhood. In Egypt, HEAL operates Montessori centers for displaced young children and employs Palestinian teachers who bring culturally rooted early childhood instruction. We are establishing new schools to serve hundreds more displaced families. Older learners receive academic support, technology, and exam preparation, along with technical training in software development, machine learning, and remote work skills that prepare them for future employment. Children in the Global Healing Program remain connected to the Palestinian curriculum and receive tutoring that keeps their academic journey moving forward even as they undergo medical treatment.
Aid
Meeting basic needs in Gaza remains one of the greatest challenges for families. Food, clean water, shelter, and hygiene supplies are scarce and access is unpredictable. HEAL responds by purchasing food and essential items locally during rare windows of availability. This allows our team to act immediately when families have a chance to access aid. HEAL has operated four community kitchens across Gaza and recently restored one that prepares fifty thousand loaves of bread each day. These kitchens provide nourishment and dignity to families facing hunger and displacement. Our teams distribute fruit and vegetable parcels, hygiene kits, winter clothes, clean water, and other essential supplies. A bakery in Khan Younis produces fifteen thousand loaves daily and provides employment opportunities, including for single mothers seeking stable income in the midst of crisis.
Leadership
HEAL invests in the rising generation of Palestinian youth by nurturing their resilience, confidence, and potential. Many young people have been injured, orphaned, or displaced, yet they hold the creativity and strength to rebuild their communities. Through mentorship, digital skills training, psychosocial support, and youth development programs, HEAL supports their growth and prepares them to lead with courage and hope.
Ways to Give and Community Support
People across the world make this work possible. Supporters fuel every part of HEAL’s mission and ensure that families are never left to face crisis alone. Contributions can support a specific program or be directed where they are needed most. HEAL accepts Zakat with a one hundred percent distribution policy, employer matching gifts, stock and cryptocurrency donations, Donor Advised Fund grants, Qualified Charitable Distributions, and other smart giving options. Supporters can also launch personal fundraisers, join local HEAL communities, or volunteer to welcome Global Healing families. Every act of care strengthens our work on the ground.
Impact
HEAL’s collective impact is profound. More than one million patients have received medical treatment in Gaza. More than four thousand people have received mental health support. Medical missions have delivered hundreds of surgeries and screenings and trained more than three hundred clinicians. More than one and a half million hot meals have been served. Twenty eight thousand people receive clean water every day. More than seventy eight thousand five hundred hygiene kits have been distributed. The Khan Younis bakery feeds communities daily and provides jobs for families who have lost everything. More than four thousand learners have been reached across Gaza, Egypt, and the United States. Each number reflects someone who was seen, supported, and given a moment of dignity and safety.
Why HEAL Palestine Matters
At a moment when so many Palestinian children live without safety or stability, HEAL stands beside them. We provide emergency care when hospitals collapse. We restore learning when classrooms disappear. We deliver nourishment when food becomes impossible to find. We support youth who carry stories of loss yet still hold dreams for the future. HEAL is a community built on trust, compassion, and the belief that every child deserves safety, dignity, and a future filled with possibility. Our work continues because supporters around the world choose hope and choose to walk with Palestinian families as they heal and rebuild.
