About this Giving Opportunity

41% Funded

$830.00

Donated of $2,000.00

Please let me introduce you to an incredible person. Robert Beinborn passed away on June 20, 2011 as the result of a car accident. It was a sudden end to a painful struggle that included two bouts with cancer – the 2nd of which left him unable to walk again.

Despite this obstacle, he went on to coach the JV boys’ and girls’ basketball teams at Cuba City High School. He was an assistant softball coach and served on the board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches’ Association (WBCA). He was elected to his second term as Mayor of Cuba City in 2010 and spent his summers as one of the coordinators of basketball camps.

In 1998, USA Today recognized him as its Volunteer of the Year in Wisconsin. The WBCA honored him by inducting him into the Wisconsin Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004. If you walked into the Cuba City gym on game night, everyone stopped to talk to ‘Rabbi’. They all wanted those seconds of seeing him laugh. They wanted those moments of feeling good about life. That’s what my dad did for those around him. He was the ultimate giver.

He didn’t take a day for granted. It took a car accident, not the cancer or pain, to take him from us. He overcame daily pain most cannot fathom. But did so to give what he could of himself.

We're holding our annual golf outing in my dad's honor at University Ridge in Madison, WI. We will include flight and raffle prizes along with a silent auction. We will include a band for everyone to enjoy after the event is completed. And we’re doing it all to raise money for the Memorial, to give back to the students and children in Southwest Wisconsin, and to the Jimmy V Fund to help fund continued cancer research.

Thank you for your time and consideration of a donation.

If interested in playing and not just donating on Friday, August 7th, the Bob Beinborn Memorial Golf Outing will be held at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin. For those interested in more information, please visit rabbislife.com.

Adversity on a small scale will be faced - bad shots will be made - but in the end, a celebration will be had.

"When you die, that doesn't mean you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live." - Stuart Scott
