London Marathon 2026 for NDCS

I am running the London Marathon for the National Deaf Children's Society. 

Here's why...

13 years ago we noticed our youngest son, Aayush (who was 3 years old at the time), was struggling to hear us.  After tests, our worst fears were confirmed - Aayush had progressive hearing loss, and would need hearing aids to help him hear for the rest of his life. 

Fast forward to today, Aayush uses cochlear implants to help him hear and is a thriving young man.  He recently outperformed his parents with his GCSE's and is currently practicing for his grade 5 piano exam.

In those early days, we were afraid for Aayush's future - we had so may questions.  How would he get on at school? How would his language develop?  How would he thrive in a hearing world? 

That's where the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) provided us hope.  Through information, inspiration and a place to turn to answer our many questions, NDCS supported us throughout Aayush's childhood.

Why should you support NDCS?

For a child, every day should be an adventure with a chance to meet new friends and explore the world. But, deaf children are missing out. Deaf children lose out on vital support when their audiology and education needs are not met. 

Ninety-five percent of what NDCS does is funded by the public. Their work is only possible thanks to donations from people like you.With your support, the National Deaf Children's Society can be there for every deaf child. Together, let's make sure nothing holds deaf children back.

• £20 could help a family that's just found out their baby is deaf get free, confidential support from the NDCS Helpline.
• £50 could go towards NDCS online workshops to help families learn more about deafness and meet other parents.
• £100 could contribute towards a sign language course to help parents and families.
