Eileen Slamon is Walking for the Hospice

I am raising funds for Our Lady's Hospice & Care Services - so they can continue to provide support and care to patients and families, just like they are doing for our family.

I thought I knew about the work of Our Lady's Hospice, but it was only when interaction with the hospice team became part of our daily lives that I saw just how important and vital their work is.

Every interaction with the Hospice teams in Blackrock, Wicklow and Harold's Cross were underpinned by kindness and support - a reassuring smile; an offer of a cup of tea; a shoulder to cry on.

There are no words to express our gratitude for the care and kindness shown to my husband John in his final days, and the love and support extended to me and our daughters. 

Sadly hospice services are in high demand and the only way to ensure patients and their families have access to the supports they need at the most challenging times is to ensure they have the financial resources necessary to do their work.

Any contribution - no matter how small will make a difference.
